CARE & MAINTENANCE
Vinyl fencing resists most common household stains but, like any outdoor product, it can accumulate dirt due to exposure to atmospheric conditions. When dirt or buildup appears, it’s important to clean the surface.
Chalky residue may also form over time. This is a normal condition for pigmented materials exposed to sunlight and outdoor elements.
General Cleaning
Soil, grime, and chalk can typically be removed using a garden hose and a bucket of soapy water. For best results, test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area before applying it to the entire fence.
Mildew Removal
In some regions, mildew may develop—appearing as black spots on surface dirt—especially in shaded or covered areas such as under eaves or porch enclosures. To clean mildew, use the following solution:
Cleaning Solution Recipe:
-
1/3 cup household detergent (e.g., Tide®)
-
2/3 cup Trisodium Phosphate (e.g., Soilax®)
-
1 quart 5% Sodium Hypochlorite (e.g., Clorox® bleach)
-
3 quarts of water
⚠️ Caution: Do not increase the concentration of any ingredient, as stronger mixtures may damage the vinyl.
Safety & Disposal
These chemical agents may be hazardous to people or the environment. Always read and follow the safety warnings and usage instructions on product labels. For proper disposal, refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines or contact them directly if unsure.
